Hi Anthony: Here's an educated guess. J in Spanish is pronounced like English H in "have". So, it is equivalent to the English; "Heh heh." or perhaps "Ha ha."

Yes, that confused me too when I first saw it on Spanish speakers' posts here on this site. But then I realised that it was just laughter ... ha ha, he he etc. I remember also being confused by some Spanish speakers who were referring to their favourite American singer-songwriter as 'Hotta Hotta Cal-le'. It took a while before I realised that they meant J.J. Cale!

'Hotta Hotta Cal-le'.= J. J. Cale That is fasincinating, because as those who know Spanish and English pronunciation understand, the combination of Double L's in Spanish, is pronounced as an English "Y". For example, the word for "William" which is Guillermo, sounds like Gui----Yer----Mo. Calle would be like, "Ca---Yay"
