Plural or singular verb form I want to say "some goods and a particular thing are/is removed". What form should I use? I know when subject is plural use "are". But when there is an enumeration of subjects of different number (plural/singular) what to use?

The plural is used when one verb refers to several elements in the same sentence. Also, it would be more grammatical to use "have been removed" in this particular case. Hope this helps!

Hi, Some goods are removed.. A particular thing is removed... Some goods and a particular thing are removed....(you have two things, that is why the plural) Other examle: Five cats are in the garden. A baby is in the garden. Five cats and a baby are in the garden. In an other way: There are five cats in the garden. There is a baby in the garden. There are five cats and a baby in the garden. I hope it helps.
