How to address professor & Lecturer in UK Hello, I'm international student who is currently studying in the UK. How do British people address their prof&Lecturer in college class (and emails). Should I say "Professor XXX", "Mr XXX", "Dr. XXX".

Yes. Unless you're told otherwise, students address university staff by their title followed by their surname. You'll find that tutor-student relationships are more relaxed in the UK than in Asia, so it is not unusual for teaching staff to say something like 'Call me John' at some point. If that happens, then you can feel free to use their first (given) name. Otherwise, you should stick with Professor/Dr/Mr/Ms + surname.

Hello Chongsheng, This is a good question! It can be difficult to know how to address a lecturer as they may have different titles relating to their own qualifications such as Professor or Doctor. Some lecturers also choose to be addressed as Mr XXX or Ms XXX. Most lecturers realise that it is difficult for their students to know how to address them, and will indicate what they would like to be called at the beginning of a lesson or course. It is usual to begin by addressing a person in a formal manner, and the lecturer may then indicate if they would like to be addressed more informally and say something like "Please, call me Ben". Hope this helps!
