Sometimes they are used interchangeably in casual conversation. However, there is a difference between the two words. The word "evict" describes a legal process. A landlord would have to file paper work and allow the tenants time to move out. "Kick out" doesn't have to involve a legal process and can be just as easy as telling someone to leave immediately.

evict means expel someone with the support of the law. Kick out someone, means hit or attack someone suddenly and violently with your foot. Informal definition of kick someone out is: Force someone to leave a place.
