It was nice meeting you? or it was nice to meeting you? I heard someone say "it was nice to meeting you" the other day. I thought it was "it was nice meeting you" (without "to") for a long time, because I was thinking that "to" couldn't be followed by gerunds (except "looking forward to ~ing"). Do both "it was nice meeting you" and "it was nice to meeting you" mean the same thing?

You can either say, It was nice meeting you or It was nice to meet you If you want to reply when someone says this to you, you can reply It was nice meeting you, too or It was nice to meet you as well
