For haricots verts I would actually say "green beans". Fève seems to be "lima beans". So write them as types of bean. If someone simply said "beans" I would actually think of kidney beans. I wonder which beans other people think of first?

Hi, there are 76 different kinds of beans such as vanilla beans, coffee beans, lima beans, green/purple/yellow beans, broad beans and many more. If you google the phrase "different types of beans pictures" you will also see the photos of beans.

I think it's more likely you're talking about "haricots" than "fèves". In Mexico at least, haricots (frijoles in spanish) are a staple in our diet. Fèves (habas) are also popular, but much less than haricots. Fèves are called broad beans or fava beans in english, and are bigger than most beans. http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phaseolus_vulgaris [in spanish] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_bean
