Usually, parents do not understand the feeling of their children and do not care about what they want to do in reality. If I were you, I would have a serious discussion with my parents. I would tell them about what I would like to do in the future. I would try to convince them by making them understand me. I think that following your dream and realising/living it, is the most romantic thing in the world. But, If they do not accept your request, I would suggest that you wait for a while and then speak to them again. I know that you are really keen on becoming a journalist, and I know that you are a gifted writer. It will be a pity to give it up.
