Finding teachers that challenge you in the right ways- making you process new information & asking questions that allow thinking on a deeper level- are extremely valuable. Alicia is one of those with a knack for teaching. Perceptive at meeting you where you stand in learning Spanish, her lessons feel neatly tailored: rather than focusing on level appropriate subjects that interest me that I may be familiar with, she chooses topics that are generally fascinating and feel "up my alley," pushing me beyond my own bubble into intriguing topics I wouldn't have encountered without her. After class she passes on the notes of words that were new or tripped me up for my own reference. There are always verbal and written components. Although it never feels overly formal, it is an exceptionally well-organized and well-curated class with excellent content and feedback.

One year!!! This week marks one year since I started taking classes with Alicia. She is the reason I have been able to reach an advanced level of speaking, and I am so proud of how far I've come. Alicia is a great conversationalist. Right from the start I could tell that she was personable and funny, and it has been that way ever since. Sometimes I need to take my time to gather my thoughts, but Alicia is so patient and I never feel rushed. I also love that she writes down each of my errors with corrections on the virtual whiteboard in class and sends them to me after so I can review them on my own. My favorite thing about Alicia's style is that after a little while she started to identify my weak areas and crafted lessons specifically tailored to improving those skills, which has helped me sound more natural and fluid. Alicia, thank you for all of your support and encouragement during my Spanish language journey. I'm looking forward to another great year. :)

Alicia is such a pleasure to work with, she always has interesting topics for the day and brings great conversation. She takes notes during class for you to go back and reflect on grammar mistakes and any new vocabulary. I highly recommend!

I highly recommend Alicia as a Spanish teacher. She is super organized and her teaching style is exceptional. Alicia ensures that learning the language is a fun and interactive experience. Her lessons are always engaging, creating a lively atmosphere that makes the learning process enjoyable. Alicia's pedagogical skills are awsome. She teaches just the vocabulary you need to expand your level and explains in a simple and comprehensible manner. Also she creates a supportive environment that boosts confidence in language learning.

Alicia’s style of teaching is amazing! She’s always well prepared but also really flexible. She has an interesting topic ready every lesson but if she notices the flow of conversation is going well she can very easily roll with the student until she feels that you’re ready to speak on the planned dynamic. The dynamics themselves are great, we’ve talked a lot about MX culture but we’ve also had conversations about things completely unrelated to Mexico that always grabbed my attention! She’s challenges you in a way that really makes you think, and she allows you to come to the conclusions yourself while still providing the most natural way of expressing your thoughts. Especially because she picks things you likely don’t realize that you don’t know how to talk about in Spanish. She has a pleasant attitude and a very warm personality that makes you feel welcome and free to make mistakes without being judged. I can’t recommend her enough!

Alicia is awesome! Her lessons are always super engaging and interesting. She is always prepared with topics and materials, and she always provides feedback and notes from the class that help me review and solidify what I learned that day. She always maintains a positive and supportive environment and is always quick to communicate when something comes up and a reschedule is needed. Highly recommend clases con Alicia!
