Sumayia Hashim

I would recommend Sumayiah who is a great Urdu teacher ! She is always timely and committed to my progress. Each lesson is tailored to the specific topics I would like to explore, hence i always feel each lesson is relevant.

I am taking an Urdu literature course this summer and don't know how to read Urdu (I know Hindi). I needed to be able to read Urdu before the class, so I started taking lessons with Sumaiya to gain reading speed quickly. Sumaiya is good at teaching the script. She insists that you name each letter when reading, which helps to nail down the fundamentals. I have taken about six lessons with her so far, and we are almost finished with the workbook. She said we were going to start practicing writing and reading poetry soon. I am looking forward to it.

Sumaiya did a wonderful job during our introductory lesson. She conveys a sense of professionalism and competence. She has extensive teaching experience, and demonstrates the qualities of a good teacher:)

Sumayia helped to demystify so many nuances of the Urdu language. I am eager to continue learning.

Sumayia is a very good teacher, she can help you reach fluency level in the languages she teaches. In our lesson today, i improved my languages skills.
