I read Theology at Hughes Hall at the University of Cambridge and also trained as a teacher at the University and gained a P.G.C.E. and QTS. I have a CELTA qualification and taught in China for over 14 years and was an IELTS Examiner for 4 years with the British Council in the Southern China region (based in Shenzhen). My training and experience as an Examiner has given me a profound insight in how to prepare Candidates for all types of Academic Tests and I have helped many Students achieve their desired Test Scores in order to go on and study abroad.

Two years as an Examiner of the IELTS Test has given me a deep understanding of the requirements for the Test and Academic English Tests in general. I give detailed explanations of the Lexical and Grammatical Requirements for IELTS Speaking Test and how to structure the Speaking Part 2 'Long-Turn' and negotiate the 'Scripted' and 'Follow-Up Questions' in Part 3.
