Great lesson with Carmen! Carmen talked about her day, and gave me some new vocabulary as she went. She helped explain how pitch changes when there are consecutive sixth tones. We finished the lesson by reviewing the sentences from the lesson, which is Carmen's idea and very helpful!

Great first lesson with Carmen! Carmen explained how people use Cantonese in daily life and we talked about the challenges facing learners. Carmen explained that knowing Mandarin will make it easier, and that it wasn't necessary to learn traditional characters. It was an interesting lesson!
