Hello, everyone! I currently live in Japan and have taught both Japanese and English for more than 7 years.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations. I was born in Japan, but moved to Peru where I lived for more than 15 years. I was raised in a multilingual environment, so I fluently speak Standard Japanese, Spanish and English. During my school days, I have studied Korean, French, Mandarin, German, and more, and I have also studied in South Korea as an exchange student for one year. I love reading, learning languages (currently Swedish and Polish), and playing with my dog!

In my class, I will help you improve your Japanese speaking skills through free discussions of various topics adapted to your needs. Regardless of your speaking level, I am here to help improve your skills and boost your confidence. If you are a beginner, we can start from basic grammar.

When I started lessons with Watana-san, I couldn't understand any Japanese conversations. After a couple of months of (almost) weekly practice, I can now understand quite a bit. This is a testament to her patience & skill as a mentor. I'm very thankful to have learned a lot from her.

Had a great time in class. Lessons are straight forward and simplified. Fluency in English really makes learning convenient, so if you need an easy way to learn this is the place to go. Whether you’re going for conversation practice or textbook lessons, both routes are proven to be efficient and worthwhile. I recommend it!
