Hello! My name is Ruby, and I'm an Australian based in Melbourne. I'm a published writer with a PhD in English Literature, and a professional background in university teaching and arts research. For nearly a decade, I've taught university students writing and literature. At the same time, I enjoy teaching conversational English to students from all around the world, and assisting them to reach new levels of fluency! From my own language learning experience as a student of Italian, I believe that conversational English lessons with a native speaker are an intuitive and immersive way to advance fluency, while also offering the lovely opportunity of cultural exchange.Tôi với tư cách là giáo viên
I am always led by my students’ individual needs – but as a Conversational English teacher, I specialize in vocabulary expansion and fluency development. I also specialize in assisting students and professionals alike to improve their written English, particularly business English and academic English. For example, I’ve coached professionals such as doctors and web designers to communicate more effectively with clients. I’ve also helped Masters students refine their dissertations.

My teaching style is patient, warm, flexible and understanding, and my lessons can be tailored to each student's needs. No matter what the topic of our lesson, my aim is for our interactions to be enjoyable and inspiring! Some of the topics I enjoy discussing with my students are literature, business, art, philosophy, history, and world events, to name a few. Depending on whether we are focusing on building conversational fluency, working on writing, or reading comprehension, I draw on support material and set practice tasks as needed. I've had two classes with ruby and she was very professional and enthusiastic. In Ruby's classes, she can give you full feedback and advanced oral expressions. She points out problems while giving specific solutions and building your confidence. I especially like Ruby's smile, which makes me feel very relaxed when communicating. I also learned a lot about the culture and climate related to Australia. I highly recommend her!
