Duilius

Duilius is an excellent teacher! I was already at a later beginner or early intermediate level when I started with him, but I can tell that I'll be able to go very far with him. He is really - what can I say? - "excellent" just keeps coming to mind. He is totally clearn inhis speaking, and rephrase things if I don't get it the first time, and is very easy-going and stress-free. Perhaps I shouldn't say how good he is because he'll get so many students that I won't be able to study with him anymore! But he has my highest recommendation.

Dullius is very good and patient at guiding speaking Latin, if you want to get into learning Latin as a living language I highly recommend him

If you want to hear Latin and, likewise, learn how to respond and read in Latin, then Duilius is highly recommend. He will talk to you in Latin and, based on my experience, will only break out of it when absolutlely necessary. (In my case, that's apparently when I look lost and he needs to be sure I understand.) We use the Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata text, which is very efficient for teaching Latin.

optimus magister est Duilius. His command of Latin is thorough and his knowledge of antiquity is impressive. He is willing to share this knowledge with you patiently and using the best method available to us to learn Latin (the direct method). There are few tutors that can teach you as well as he can. I've learned a lot from him in a short time.

With Duilius, you WILL learn Latin as a living language. It will be Latin throughout the lesson: he will greet you in Latin, ask you questions in Latin, give you directions in Latin, make side comments in Latin, explain concepts in Latin, and say goodbye in Latin. Rarely does he break from the language, but, in my experience, will do so if I seem lost. This is a powerful way to teach Latin, but it does require you to focus when he is talking. His fluency comes from rigorous training at his former academy, so you are well advised to learn from him (it's easier and cheaper than moving to Italy to do what he did for years!).

Duilius is a great Latin teacher for me. Generally, he focuses on getting me to speak Latin during the first part of the lessons, then we reveiw the text or parts of grammar. It's amazing to hear Latin spoken so fluently and in a modern context, but he shows me how to do it.
