Hi everyone! My name is Petra, I'm a graduate from Leiden University and I'm passionate about foreign languages, culture, history, art and nature! I'm a native Dutch speaker, have native fluency in English and I can also speak French and German. In my free time, I enjoy reading a good book, going for a hike or a ride on my bicycle. I am also passionate about travelling and have visited China, Iceland, Albania, the Czech Republic, Scotland, England, Germany, Belgium, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Turkey and Italy.

عني كمعلّم

I started teaching in 2009, when I began tutoring Dutch teenagers who needed some help with their Dutch, English, German or French lessons. In 2017, I decided it was time to broaden my horizons and start working for Italki. I hold a Master's Degree in Educational Science. Aside from teaching on Italki, I also have experience as a classroom teacher at an international school. I believe that learning should be fun and motivating, so I will do my best to make sure my classes are fun and engaging!

دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي

I can offer both informal conversation practice and structured classes, to both beginners and advanced learners. I mainly work with online learning materials, such as an online workbook, videos, pictures, articles and short texts, songs, grammar exercises and mock exams. During the classes, I will work with a variety of topics and tools so that learning will never get boring and you'll get plenty of practice. Since I believe the learning process should be student-centered, I will adapt my classes to your level, pace, and interests. Dear students, please note that making video or audio recordings of my lessons is only allowed for your own personal use and only with my explicit permission.

Petra is an absolutely wonderful teacher! She explains everything very well, she is kind and attentive and knows how to gently push you so you can effectively learn, remember and practice in real life. I can't recommend her more, my only regret is not meeting Petra earlier.

Petra is doing a really great job with preparation to the inburgering exams. Very practical and efficient. Just scored 9 out of 10 for my writing exam, without having any real language practice at work or at home, only after taking these lessons. Can highly recommend Petra.
