When I came across Keisya Levronka’s song “Lagu Untuk Hari Ini (Songs For Today),” I first thought it was a Korean track by BOL4. But, it turned out to be an Indonesian song by the Indonesian singer Keisya Levronka. (Who agrees that the Indonesian language kinda sounds similar to Korea…? Only me…?) Anyway, I really liked Keisya’s voice in the song, so I did some research to get to know more about her! Let’s find out about who she is! According to Wikipedia, this 17-year-old Indonesian star was born in Malang, Indonesia in 2003. Originally, she started her entertainment career as a model because of the influence of her mom, who was a professional model. One thing led to another, in 2019, she somehow joined the tenth season of the Indonesian singing competition show “Indonesian Idol” because of her mom. Though she was reluctant to join the show at the beginning, she did a great job by ranking Top 13 in the show, popularizing her name across the country! On the back of her outstanding performance, she got signed to Universal Music Indonesia and has released singles such as “Just Be My Lover,” “In a Hurry,” and “Songs For Today.” All in all, I think that her mom made a great choice by forcing Keisya to join the competition show. If it weren’t for her, Keisya wouldn’t have been able to shine as a singer! That could’ve been a loss of Indonesia and music fans all over the world! My favorite track of Keisya is “Songs For Today,” which was released last month. Opening with luscious violin melody and sweet guitar riffs, this beautiful acoustic song is about her lover whom she is appreciative of and wants to spend more time with. When I first listened to this song, I never expected her to be this young because of her voice that carries emotion and weight that people her age usually don’t have. Simply speaking, she is amazing! Though she just debuted this year, I’m sure she will become the face of Indonesian music soon. So, check out Keisya Levronka’s music!
