How to Respond to “Tell Me About Yourself” in a Job Interview Effortlessly If you’ve ever struggled with the question “Tell me about yourself,” you’re not alone. Many candidates either say too much and lose focus, or they memorize an answer and sound unnatural. The problem is usually not what you say, but how you organize it. Why This Question Matters: Interviewers are not asking for your life story. They want to see if you can communicate clearly, structure your thoughts, and focus on what’s relevant. A strong answer creates clarity and confidence from the start. A Simple Structure That Works (One of Many Possible Frameworks): Use a simple framework: Past – Present – Future Past: your background Present: what you’re doing now Future: why this role makes sense Example: Unstructured: “I graduated in 2018, then I worked in marketing, and I did different things…” Structured: “I studied marketing and started in digital campaigns. I’m currently managing social media projects, focusing on client growth. Now I’m looking to move into a more strategic role.” Notice the difference. It’s not longer—just clearer and easier to follow. Why This Works: It’s logical. It’s easy to process. It shows confidence without sounding rehearsed. Practical Tips: Keep it short (30–45 seconds). Don’t memorize word-for-word. Focus on clarity, not perfection. Try This: Write one sentence for each Past: How did you get started? Present: What are you doing now? Future: Why this role? Practice saying it out loud, naturally. This is something you can improve quickly. Image Source: https://www.shutterstock.com/image-photo/female-asian-applicant-human-resources-600nw-2683273337.jpg

🛑 Stop apologising for your English! How often do you find yourself saying, "I’m sorry, my English is bad"? When you apologise, you are telling your brain to focus on your mistakes instead of on your message. You are creating a mental block before you even finish your sentence. Why you should stop saying "Sorry" • It kills your confidence - It makes you feel ‘less than’ the person you’re talking to. • It creates stress - You become hyper-focused on grammar instead of the conversation. • You are learning another language. That’s a superpower, not a mistake! 💡 Try these Power Swaps instead: • ❌ Sorry for my bad English. • ✅ Thank you for your patience while I explain this. • ❌ I don't know the word, sorry. • ✅ How do you say [your idea] in English? I'm still learning that term. • ❌ Sorry, did you understand? • ✅ Did that make sense, or should I rephrase it? ________________________________________ 🚀 Ready to speak without the "Sorry"? In my sessions, we skip the boring textbooks and ‘perfection pressure’. We focus on natural, stress-free conversation that builds your confidence from the very first minute. 🟢 Check my calendar and book a trial session today #LearnEnglish #Confidence #LanguageLearning #SpeakEnglish #ReachFluency

Last Saturday, I went to my coming-of-age ceremony. In many other areas, the ceremony is held on Sunday this week, but in my area, it is held earlier. I was a little surprised, but I was also excited because this day was very special for me. On that day, I woke up very early in the morning. I went to a shop where the staff helped me with dressing and makeup. Wearing a furisode was a little uncomfortable and tight, but it was very beautiful. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I felt happy and proud. After I got ready, I showed my outfit to my family. They all smiled and said it looked great, which made me very happy. At the ceremony, I met many friends from junior high school and high school. I had not seen them for a long time, so I was surprised at how much everyone had changed. Especially one friend from junior high school caught my attention. She used to be very quiet, but now she had blond hair. At first, I didn’t even recognize her. Even though we didn’t have much time to talk that day, it was fun to see everyone again. In March, there will be a junior high school reunion. I hope I can talk slowly with everyone then and share many memories. This ceremony made me feel that I have grown up.
