Is this ok? We had a trip last week. I think it was fun. Should I say ‘I thought it was fun.’? Thanks

"Think" and "thought" are both correct. "I think" = right now at this moment I think that it was fun "I thought" = at the time of the trip, I thought it was fun Say the one that best describes your thoughts. In most cases, I would use the past tense: It WAS fun We HAD a good time You can even combine present and past tenses: "I think we had a good time."

I would personally use the expression "I thought it was fun" The event was in the past and your thought at the time was that it was fun. If you use the expression "I think it was fun", it could mean that looking back at the event you think that it was fun but you are not 100% sure that it was.. hope that helps Richard

You can say think, because you’re thinking about it right now. Thinking now about something you did in the past. I think yesterday was a productive day.
