With the trial lesson, we'll have 30 minutes to get to know each other, we'll talk about your previous experience and your needs regarding the language (English or Portuguese).
If necessary, we'll also have a placement test to know exactly at what level you're in.

I prepare all the lessons in advance and send you all the materials by email. There will be homework, which will be assigned to you at the end of each lesson. We'll check all your difficulties together, at the beginning of the following lesson. There will also be time at the end of the lesson to error correction, where we'll work on your grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary.

I was introduced to some of the challenges of teaching and learning listening and speaking, such as paralinguistics, performance variables, reduced and regional forms, and differing types of oral discourse. Then I learned how to ease the acquisition of listening and speaking for my students. The course also highlighted the powerful opportunity to include pronunciation in listening and speaking classes and offers strategies to incorporate pronunciation activities.

This was my second time taking the TOEFL test, this time I took the internet based test. My score was 117 out of 120.

The course introduced me to the many-faceted study of languages. Together with speakers of many other languages around the world, as well as with famous linguists such as Noam Chomsky and Adele Goldberg, I learned to understand and analyse how my native tongue is at the same time similar and different from many other languages. I learned the basic concepts of linguistics, got to know some of the key features of big and small languages and got insight into what linguists do.

This course focused on the key concepts a teacher needs in order to effectively integrate technology into teaching, without letting it overshadow language learning. Current and future trends in educational technology, along with strategies for implementing these trends in the classroom and beyond. As technology is continually evolving, we learned how to keep up on current technological applications through professional development networks and training opportunities.

This certificate demonstrates completion of a 75-hour self-paced course of instruction with peer reviewed and computer scored assessments. The ASU/Coursera specialization covers the foundational principles of teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, including planning lessons and observing teachers in the classroom.

My research was on gender perfomances in gifted girls. The theoretical approach was Childhood Sociology, Gender Studies and Inclusive Education.
