こんにちは。今日は8月7日水曜日です。「5分でわかる日本語」ポッドキャストへようこそ。私は日本語の先生、みわです。今日は、日本の歴史の中でよく出てくる「侍（さむらい）」と「武士（ぶし）」の違いについてお話しします。

みなさんは、侍や武士が好きですか？かっこいいですよね。でも、その違いは知ってますか？実は、私は知りませんでした。今回、このポッドキャストのために調べました。

まず、「武士」について説明します。武士は、武器を持って戦う人のことです。戦うことが仕事で、昔の戦争の時によく働きました。武士は、地方の大きな力を持ってる人達や農民たちが、自分たちの土地を守るために、武器を持って戦ったことから始まりました。743年に「墾田永年私財法（こんでんえいねんしざいほう）」という法律ができて、新しい土地を自分のものにできるようになったので、地方の優れた人達は土地を大きくして、武士になりました。

次に、「侍」についてです。「侍」は、地位が高い人のために働く人のことを指します。「侍」という言葉は、昔の言葉「候ふ（さぶらう）」からきていて、「見て、守る」という意味や「周りを注意して、よく見る」という意味があります。実は、侍は、武士の一種です。侍は武士の中でも特に地位が高い人のために働いた人たちでした。

ここで、武士と侍の違いを整理しましょう。武士は、戦うことが仕事で、武器を持って戦います。侍は、地位が高い人のために働く人たちのことを指します。侍は武士の一種ですが、特に高い地位を持つ人たちでした。

ただ、日本人でも侍と武士の違いを知ってる人はほとんどいません。それは、江戸時代（1603年〜1868年）に起こったことと関係しています。江戸時代になると、戦争が少なくなり、武士のほとんどが地位が高い人のために働くようになりました。そのため、武士と侍の違いがだんだんとなくなり、同じような意味で使われるようになったのです。

ここで、皆さんに問題です。「侍」と「武士」の違いは何ですか？
	1.	侍は地位が高い人のために働き、武士は戦うことを仕事にする人たち全体を指します
	2.	武士は地位が高い人のために働き、侍は戦うことを仕事にする人たち全体を指します
	3.	侍も武士も同じ意味
正解は「1. 侍は地位が高い人のために働き、武士は戦うことを仕事にする人たち全体を指します」です。

「さむらい」と「武士」のちがいを学ぼう！

One of Coca-Cola's many taglines was: "You can't beat the real thing." The company was trying to say that even though there were a lot of similar drinks, none of them was as good as the "real" Coke.

You might not agree. But when it comes to art, researchers in the Netherlands think it's true — you can't beat the real thing.

A small study has found that real artworks stimulate the brain much more than posters or prints of the same work.

The Mauritshuis ("MAO-rits-haus") Museum in The Hague commissioned the study. The museum's best-known artwork is Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer.

Researchers showed this artwork and four others to 20 people. While they were looking at the paintings, their brain activity was measured using a brain scanner.

The participants were also asked to look at posters of those same five artworks. The researchers compared their brain activity when looking at the real artworks and when looking at the posters.

They found that when looking at the real artworks, participants had an emotional response that was 10 times stronger compared to when they were looking at the posters.

Martine Gosselink from the museum said this was an "enormous difference." She said they had thought that looking at the real thing might give people a richer experience, but now "we can really say that it is true."

The researchers said the real art caused a strong emotional response in a part of the brain called the precuneus. This part of the brain is involved with self-reflection and personal memories.

Some have said that this research demonstrates the importance of museums and galleries for people of all ages.

こんばんは！Atsushiです。
今日の北海道の天気は雨です。
ずっと雨が降っています。
気温は19℃です。少し寒いですね。

私が学生だった時は、今日8/31が夏休みの終わりでした。
明日9/1から新学期、日本だと2学期のはじまりですね。
今ははじまる日はもう少し早いです。たぶん先週の途中からはじまっているところもありますね。

私が学生の時は、8/31が休みの最後の日だったので、とても寂しい気持ちだったことを思い出します。それと夏休みの宿題が終わっていなかったので、必死になって終わらせていたと思います。

夏休みは、日本の学生生活で1番長い休みですね。ですので、家族や友達といろんなところへ出かける、遊びに行くとか、旅行することが多いので、楽しいイメージがあります。

冬休みや春休みもありますが、それはそんなに長くないですね。2.3週間です。夏休みは1ヶ月ちょっとありますね。約40日ぐらいですかね。日本人は働き始めると、そんなに長い期間は休むことはとても少ない、ほとんどないので、学生の時の夏休みはとても貴重な、大切な時間ですね。

高校生までは友達と海に行ったりしましたが、大学生になると行動力もつくので、日本中を旅行したり、海外にも行ったりします。

私が大学生の時は、日本国内の旅行と海外旅行、両方しました。大学生の年齢になると車の免許が取れるので、車での旅行が増えました。毎年車で旅行をしましたが、1番記憶に残っているのは、北海道を車で一周したことです。

おそらく4.5日かけて回ったと思います。
日本最北端の宗谷岬、最東端の納沙布岬に行きました。
おいしいラーメンや海鮮丼を食べたことは、今も覚えています。

そんな北海道に25年後に住んでいるとは想像もしませんでした。人生何があるかわかりませんね。わからないから楽しい！と思います。最近はわからないことを楽しもう！という気持ちになってきました。来年どこに住んでいるかわからない人生はそれはそれでエキサイティングですね。日本語のレッスンをしていると、いろんな場所に住んでいる人の話が聞けるので、本当に楽しいですし、刺激をもらいます。

夏の話からそれてきましたので、ここで終わりにします。
