I know that when a westerner sees an easterner eating a bowl of noodles for breakfast for the first time, he or she usually thinks that it is odd. This shock happened just like that when we ate bread with only a cup of coffee many years ago. You can imagine that on a chilly fall morning, a hungry man is sitting in a restaurant with a bowl of tasty noodles as his breakfast. As the steam from the noodles rises up into the air, it is able to immediately take the cold away, just like a cup of hot coffee or hot chocolate can keep you warm in the fall or in winter. So, no matter what we eat for breakfast, the feeling is the same. The true meaning of breakfast is to give you a great start to the day. There is a great Chinese saying that says that the tasty smell from food can easily comfort a tried (or struggling) person. Nowadays, we can go around the world whenever we want. We can also buy any type of food from around the world from the grocery stores nearby. A cup of coffee and a bowl of noodles can appear on my table simultaneously. I never debate whether they are right or not; I just want to enjoy both of them.
