Hi everyone, I have to make a report on a visit I made to a self-study centre at a local university. I would like you to tell me if I made any mistakes. Introduction The aim of this report is to explain how convenient/useful it would be to have a self-study centre and the advantages and disadvantages of proceed with the construction of the facility, and make recommendations. In order to do this, I have recently visited the self-study centre at a local university. Advantages Several students at the university said that the worksheets they had been provided with were very useful. It helps to attract potential students to the university as well. Furthermore, it is said that it enables students to study at their own pace and according to their individual needs outside the class. Disadvantages However, the main disadvantage is the cost of the project. Even though the use of facilities could help to fund it, it would not be enough. The teachers that write/create the materials for the centre would have to invest their own free time. In addition, there should be a full-time assistant which has to be on duty even if the centre is empty. Recommendations I am aware that that students would benefit from the self-study centre. Nonetheless, the significant cost of setting up the facility and the time and effort that would involve to make it work would outweigh the advantages. I would therefore recommend looking for other projects.
