Today there was a huge traffic om my way to the office and back. However, due to the construction at my office, I was able to return home back soon and carry out my work. The another good thing that happened today is I took my SIM Card which I was planning to take weeks back.

"Traffic" is noncountable so we must treat it as such (i.e. 'a lot of' instead of 'a huge'). You can use "The other" or "another" depending on what you want to say (i.e. if there were just 2 good things that happened today or more than 2). It's not clear what you're doing with your SIM card. Perhaps you mean you went to the store to buy it. In that case, you can use "got/get" or "bought/buy".
