One english anthropologist, named Dunbar, introduced an important concept for social studies, the so called Dunbar's number. Basically, because of how our brain is made, we can have meaningful relationship only with a few people; we can care about friends and people we know, but their number can't grow bigger than the Dunbar's number, that is supposed to be 150 for an average human.
