what foreign languages are taught at high schools in your country? what foreign languages are taught at high schools in your country? In China...English is probably the only language taught at high school, and minority of schools offers Japanese, French, Russian courses...but for language teaching..most schools are monolingual

Yeah, I totally agree...I think people on the earth need a lingua franca to communicate with each other..:)

When I was in high school (in the 70's), the choices were French and Spanish.  Our school had approximately 1000 students.  I imagine larger schools will have more choices and smaller ones will have less.

in Poland it's mandatory to learn two languages, main and side one. You can learn such languages as: German, French, Italian, Russian, English, Spanish and there are also literally few school in capital when they even started to teach Chinese.

When I was in high school, I only learnt English. However, a year after I graduated from there, they started to teach German. btw @Susan this is discussion section :p
