I still have to add information, but it seems pretty similar to the US Facebook.

we have different networks, like habrahabr.ru (for IT) or mamba.ru (for sex) or livejournal.com (lj.ru) - it's a blog service.

But vkontakte.ru (in contact) - very popular network!
