What's the difference between" knit" and "weave"?

I think I know(grandma knits all the time. and I wove in elementary school But smaller versions). Knitting is when you use the two prongs or sticks (sorry I don't the names) and you make knots that go on top of each other eventually making something like a blanket,scarf, etc. While weaving uses a large or small board that holds many strings that act like a base layer. Their color usually doesn't matter since different colored string will weave over and under each row of lines. Once the color is layed horizontally, the person can either use their hands or a special tool that pushes the specified string even tighter against other layers which covers up the base layers which is why they don't matter. Weaving creates bigger pieces like rugs, table tops, curtains, etc. knitting is more for small stuff. Hope that answers your question.

A knitted fabric is one continuous thread, while a woven fabric is multiple threads that are passed around each other to create the fabric.
