"a bit of everything" depends on the verb. The general idea is a shallow involvement in many things (as opposed to a deep involvement in one or a few things). Examples: When traveling, he likes to see a bit of everything. [old castles, museums, beaches, cities, ...] She likes to read a bit of everything. [murder mysteries, love stories, biographies, ...] A different post today had some incorrect comments about "a bit of everything" meaning the person was a jack-of-all-trades. There was no connection between "settling for a bit of everything" and a jack-of-all-trades who "CAN DO a bit of everything."

In this context, "a little bit of everything" refers to finding an appropriate balance of how much time and effort to devote to one's work life and one's personal life.

Here, “a bit of everything” contrasts with the idea of “having it all”—so the writer is saying they’re content to have smaller parts of various things in their life, rather than striving to have (for example) a full-blown career and fully scheduled family life all at once. An different, common usage of “a bit of everything” might be ordering food at a salad bar—the server asks what you want, and you answer “I’d like a bit of everything,” meaning you want some carrots, tomatoes, peppers, various other toppings, etc.
