Should I learn Spanish and Portuguese at the same time or learn one first? I know Spanish and Portuguese are very similar and I am currently learning Spanish, I don't know if I could learn Portuguese now or I should wait until I master in Spanish

If you try learning both at the same time, chances are you'll end up speaking portuñol, haha. Believe me, you don't want that. Besides, learning portuguese once you already have a good command of spanish is super easy, whereas learning both languages at the same time -given that they're very different from your mother tongue- is just going to make the whole learning process more confusing and difficult. I believe it might even take you longer to achieve fluency if you try to learn them simultaneously rather than if you tackle them one at a time...I really wouldn't advise it but it's up to you :P

I have studied both, and would like to get both going at the same time. Sadly, I booked today and I was somehow unclear on where to go - thought I'd booked italki room - perhaps I hadn't - but it ended up with lesson not going ahead. What a drag. I do find the italki communications hard to interprete unfortunately.

Hi!! I think to learn the two lenguages at the same time is not the best option. Spanish and portugueses are very similars. In the two languages there are the same words, but the pronunciation is different for example: Carro = In spanish pronunciation is /carro/ but in portuguese pronunciation is /Cajo/ because the sound of r inicial and rr es like /j/ in spanish. My first language is spanish and when I was learning portuguese the differences in pronunciation was difficult for me. It's better to learn one language and then the other. bye!
