What would happen if Poseidon died? Sorry for this preposterous question, first! And second, I expect that there are only 2 options. 1, "the sea water level goes up" so that it is high enough to sink whole creatures on the planet. What a sea disaster! 2, "the sea water level goes down" so that, the whole planet is totally exposed and being scorched under the sun; volcano erupts... Plants, human... dehydrate and die. What a drought disaster! I am not quite familiar with Greek Mythology and history, every god' s function either... So, will you answer the question from the history or mythology's background?( like, answer it with your reason.) The GOD OF WAR says the water level will goes up. But I intend that it will go down, Poseidon' s death will result in the earth drought, because he is the emblem of all seas base on the Mythology. Thanks as long as you finish reading my stupid question... Very much if you answer it with your point. Extremely grateful if you correct the mistakes I made hereinbefore!... XD

It is generally agreed that the Earth was first covered in water, and that the waters receded and the land appeared. It follows that Poseidon's power over the oceans lies in his ability to restrain 克 the waters. He is able to cause floods and disasters by simply not doing his job of restraining the waters. So, if he dies, you can pretty much guess what happens.

Correction: The GOD OF WAR says the water level will goes up. But I Think...etc. And I believe that the sea level will go down, and all of the hidden evil monsters will be unleashed.
