¿Cómo le va? ------ no entiendo :( ¿Cómo le va? / ¿Cómo te va? What is 'le' and 'te' in this case? And what is the literal translation for those sentences? I know 'va' is the conjugation from 'Ir' (which means to go). So I assume the literal translation would be; how you go???? I really love learning grammar with the literal translation, so I would understand the grammar rules. Gracias.

Hi Kezia, Since we don´t have the context, in this case, "le" could refer to the third person (él/ella) or the formal form (Usted). In Spanish, the use of reflexive verbs (with the reflexive pronoun) is quite extensive. In this case, we could translate in English with "How is it going?" with the difference that English uses the neutral "it" pronoun and Spanish likes to refer to the person. A literal translation could be "how is it going with you"? I hope it helps!

Cómo le va?. Ahí tú tratas a la persona de usted. Cómo le va a usted? Cómo te va?. Ahí tú tratas a la persona de tú. Cómo te va a ti?. Espero que lo comprendas y haberte ayudado. Remo

Tanto ¿Cómo le va? y ¿Cómo te va? significan "How are you" La diferencia es que ¿Cómo le va? es para uso formal y ¿Cómo te va? es para uso informal Por ejemplo, si quieres sonar muy educada y respetuosa usas ¿Cómo le va?
