Make lists of words you learned and categorize them, e.g words you use at the office , words you use at school , greetings etc.... - Keep a diary in English . Try to use the new words you learned to write and compose simple sentences .The more you add up to your vocabulary, the more you can form intricate ones. Test your level!. -Take a holiday abroad if you can afford in countries speaking English. It is an opportunity to practice with natives and learn more about the culture and people. You can sign up in language courses in those countries as well beside visiting its historical and monumental buildings and museums . You will be using guiding phrasebooks to help you get along there. The whole process will help you learn more words, expressions and practice speaking. Don't forget to keep repeating the new vocabulary you learn on a continuous basis. If you stopped practicing for a while you might notice that you could start forgetting some words you learned before. So the key is constant repetition in various contexts! Good luck:) 加油

Hello 别别开枪是我, Effectively improving your vocabulary includes memorizing this vocabulary on the long run and being able to use them correctly in forming sentences. If you learned any new words using any method you might risk forgetting it on the long run, if you didn't keep practicing and repeating the words. This could be done in the context of a written text or a conversation in a movie you watch or the word repeated in a song you hear. The important thing is you keep hearing the words repetitively in various occasions. Mingling with natives, chatting online, listening to music, attending a lecture , practicing in English speaking activities etc are all opportunities to be exposed to hearing ,speaking and using the words you have learned initially in a written text or through a course you are taking. The following are concrete methods to initially increase and add up to your vocabulary: Reading at your level of comprehension simple texts or books and looking up new words . * Listening to English through music and possibly reading the lyrics. * Watching movies in English with subtitles in your mother tongue.. * Chatting with natives online using voice chats or in real life .Mingling with natives is a very good way to be constantly listening to speech in English, even if you don't understand at the beginning.

- Write sentences and essays which include new interesting vocabulary. This can help you improve both your speaking and wrting skills. It also helps you remember the new words that you acquire. - Read as much as possible from a different variety of authentic reading materials (books, newspapers, magazines, etc). - Use a good English dictionary that can clearly define words, provide information about grammar and give sample sentences to show how words are used in context. You can use the following books to extend and practice your vocabulary: -English Vocabulary in Use Advanced"( by Michael McCarthy) - Grammar and Vocabulary for Cambridge Advanced and Proficiency (Richard Side and Guy Wellman) - Vocabulary Building 1-2-3-4 (vocabulary building workbook series by Betty Kirkpatrick MA) - Test Your Vocabulary 1-2-3-4-5 (a series of vocabulary practice books by Peter Watcyn-Jones) - Fifteen Thousand Useful Phrases (by Grenville Kleiser) - Boost Your Vocabulary (by Chris Barker) - More Than Words: Vocabulary for Upper Intermediate to Advanced Students Bk. 1 (by Jeremy Harmer) - Test your English Vocabulary in Use Upper-Intermediate by Michael McCarthy, Felicity O'Dell, Paperback: 152 pages, Publisher: Cambridge University Press - Compelling Conversations: Questions and Quotations on Timeless Topics - An Engaging ESL Textbook for Advanced Students, by Eric H. Roth, Toni Aberson (Paperback) - Essential Idioms in English: Phrasal Verbs and Collocations, Fifth Edition by Robert J. Dixson, Paperback: 276 pages Publisher: Pearson ESL

In order to improve your English vocabulary you can follow 2 methods. First is the repetition-based method, where you learn English words by writing them several times or saying them repeatedly until you remember them all. If you patiently follow the process, you will see your vocabulary extended very well. Secondly, you also need have to have a notebook with your own note-taking rules. Each time you log onto Italki, note down any new words in the Questions and Answers section. The only problem is whether you want a rich vocabulary or not. Any good plan should answer the four following questions. Firstly, how many words will you learn a week: five, ten, fifteen or more? Secondly, when will you learn them? At a fixed time every other morning or anytime you feel like learning? This is what I personally recommend. Thirdly, how often will you review what you have learnt: once a week, once a month or before a test ? Finally, what areas of English will you focus on: sports, music, games or sciences? The answers may vary a great deal from one person to another depending on memory, schedules and interest. Otherwise, your study results won't be as you expected. You can gain a big vocabulary and improve your English by simply by determining what field of words to learn, making a plan of learning, choosing a learning method and regularly practising your plan and method. Although it is up to you, daily vocab learning is better than weekly and weekly is better than monthly.Good luck. I find that these 3 memorizing strategies work the best . * Associate. Use basic characteristics of memory to learn new material. * Visualize. Use mental imagery to support goals, rehearse skills and reinforce other techniques. * Verbalize. Use words and writing to learn faster.

Hello If you want to improve your vocabulary you have to read books, newspapers, magazines etc... then you need to have a block note and write the new vocabulary nearly every day... then once a week go from the start and read again what you wrote on your block note... It is not difficult to do it but it is demanding ... If you have few friends here on Itaki you can practice with them also once a week for example. good luck!
