Hi Marek, yes homed, homing, homes can be used as verbs: 1. To go or return to one's residence or base of operations. 2. To be guided to a target automatically, as by means of radio waves. 3. To move or lead toward a goal: The investigators were homing in on the truth

I am not trying to explain anything here... I am just pasting what's in my dictionary just in case some of us might be interested. verb [ intrans. ] 1 (of an animal) return by instinct to its territory after leaving it : a dozen geese homing TO their summer nesting grounds. • (of a pigeon bred for long-distance racing) fly back to or arrive at its loft after being released at a distant point. 2 ( home in on) move or be aimed toward (a target or destination) with great accuracy : more than 100 missiles were launched, homing IN on radar emissions. • focus attention on : a teaching style that homes in on what is of central importance for each student.

Ahoj Marek, "To home" can be seen as a condensed version of "to find one's way home". Though in military terms "home" means "target". It's used to describe how animals can find their own way home (eg. a homing pigeon: "these birds have been trained to home"), or for missiles: "the missile homed in on its target" in which case you'd use the phrasal verb "home in" (ie. aim accurately).

what peachey says is right, but note that I have never heard home used as a verb other than when referring to missiles
