I'll give the meaning of this song to you piece by piece. -another turning point, a fork stuck in the road a turning point is choices and a fork stuck in the road means that it is a dificult decision to make. Like his girl friend moving away -time grabs you by the wrist directs you where to go time passes by no matter what and you have to go along with it -so make the best of this test and don't ask why the test is your life. Don't ask why means just live your life. -it's not a question but a lesson learned in time you learn from the things that happen in your life -it's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right you don't know what's going to happen, but things happen for a reason -I hope you have the time of your life means what it means -so take the photographs and still frames in your mind keep the memories -hang it on a shelf in good health and good time keep the memories safe until you are able to look back at them when you are not hurting any more -tattoos of memories and dead skin on trail with tattoos you keep the memories with you and leave them behind -for what it's worth it was worth all the while if it was worth anything at all it was worth doing and then it just repeats after that you know how it goes....... He is trying to look back at the times he had with his girl friend and be happy but it's still really hard.

"another turning point, a fork stuck in the road"... This refers to a time of decision making. You can turn one way or another. Usually, somewhat difficult decision making where you anticipate having some regrets or risk no matter which choice you make. The phrase is usually "a fork in the road". If you picture a road that splits into two like a Y then you will see that you can take the left or the right.... (I think the word "stuck" was put in for poetic matters - I like it.)

It is a little late, but I would like to give my take on this. It helps to know what the song “Good Riddance” is really about before deciding the meaning. The song was written by singer Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day. It is a song about breaking up with his girlfriend (she was moving to Ecuador) and his disappointment that was attached to the break up. He was trying to be understanding and meant the song as a sort of farewell. The “turning point” is not a decision, but an event over which he feels helpless, a fork or splitting of their ways. I think he used the term “a fork stuck in the road” because it congers up to meanings. The first – a fork in the road… a divergence of ways. But also a fork stuck in. This refers to the slang “stick a fork in it, it is done” which means it’s over, finished, complete. By combining these two terms, the picture is that the relationship is over and they are parting ways.
