Hey there! I'm Javier, a professional teacher from Colombia with a passion for teaching Spanish. I've been helping young and adult learners of all levels since 2010, both in-person and online, in countries like the United Kingdom and Japan.
My mission is to help you communicate effectively and with confidence, whether you're starting from scratch or striving for a C2 level. That's why I focus on the most common vocabulary and expressions used in real-life conversations and contexts, making learning Spanish fun and practical!Che tipo di insegnante sono
As a teacher, I believe in creating a comfortable and supportive learning environment.
One of my favorite parts of teaching is getting to know my students and helping them communicate their ideas clearly and effectively.
During our lessons, I want you to have as much speaking practice as possible. That's why we'll have guided conversations that focus on your specific needs and interests. And if there's specific vocabulary or grammar that you need help with, we'll work on that together too.

We'll focus on your individual needs to help you communicate confidently and effectively.
As an English speaker, you may face some common challenges when learning Spanish, such as gender and agreement, knowing when to use "ser" vs. "estar," mastering the subjunctive, and building your vocabulary.
Don't worry if you find these challenging at first - I'm here to help you overcome them with guided conversations and specific vocabulary and grammar exercises.
My goal is to help you express yourself naturally and confidently in real-life situations, so you can start using your new language skills right away.

Javier is by far the best Spanish Tutor I've had, and I've tried tutors from other platforms before iTalki. He is personable, patient, and his teaching style is ideal for online learners. I dont think other students, or other tutors for that matter, give thought to that. Javier uses a PDF to capture areas you need to review/study so that you can improve. July mark's the 2nd year that I've been taking lessons with Javier and I have definitely progressed with my Spanish. I can now confidently add "Spanish speaker" on my resume thanks to Javier.

Just had another great class with Javier. He always knows how to keep the conversation going while helping me improve on my speaking skills. He also takes the time to target our classes with excercises/reading material related to the area I want to focus on.

Great session with Javier as usual ! He not only helps me during the lesson by providing exercises that will help me with vocabulary/or grammar points I want to review, but he also creates a test at the end of the lesson for me to review the words/phrases I had a hard time during the session.
