Halló! I'm a passionate educator with a rich academic background, holding Bachelor's degrees in both Law and Philosophy from the University of Iceland. My fascination with Chinese culture -- and the Chinese language -- led me to pursue an MA in Chinese Philosophy at Fudan University, one of the most prestigious institutions in China. Currently, I am further deepening my expertise by working towards a PhD in Chinese Philosophy at Fudan University. On the side, I teach both Icelandic and English.Che tipo di insegnante sono
I am passionate about languages and education. I have experience teaching both Icelandic and English, as well as teaching philosophy at the university level.
My teaching philosophy is centered around communication. I believe in the power of oral proficiency as a foundation for language learning, and thus, my lessons are predominantly focused on helping you become confident and fluent in speaking Icelandic. My lessons are individually tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Depending on your level and preferences, I can provide a selection of books and teaching materials to best support your learning journey. My primary aim is to teach you Icelandic as it's genuinely spoken on the streets of Reykjavík. Another fantastic lesson, thank you. Lessons so far have been consistently good, Baldur is attentive and gives really useful feedback. Good at explaining things and also giving good notes in the chat. I have a long way to go but I really feel like I am improving after every lesson. Recommend.

So much fun! I loved Baldur's attitude (appeared enthusiastic to be talking with me and invested in the language). He is clearly extremely knowledgeable and I felt very comfortable to make attempts at the language and to make mistakes. I also really appreciated how he corrected my mistakes (non-intrusive, so that the conversation could flow, yet I was still learning so that I would not continue to make the same mistake). I have booked several sessions with Baldur in the future; I can't wait!
