Hi! Thanks for taking the time to visit my profile. I’m Anton, originally from England. A firm believer in learning from challenges (or perhaps a little mad! 😂), I moved to Taiwan at the age of 25, where I spent 17 wonderful and successful years as an English teacher, coach, and entrepreneur, owning and running a restaurant. A couple of years ago, I sold the restaurant and relocated to Germany, where I continue to teach and coach.
I find joy in spending time with family and friends, playing the piano, cooking, or exploring nature through cycling and hiking.

When I think back to my favourite teachers, I remember the ones who really had a positive impact on my life, not just in the target subject but in many aspects. They were not only teachers, they were also life coaches and in a way friends. They spoke to me on a human level, with kindness, understanding and respect, while at the same time motivating me and giving me confidence. These are the teachers I would happily meet again later in life. And so I'm humbled when I hear my students, both past and present, say similar things about me.

My lessons and teaching style are highly personalized to suit the needs and levels of all my students. I recognize that each of us learns differently and that we all have our strengths and weaknesses, so I adjust the lessons accordingly.

My teaching style is natural, immersive and with enough structure that things click into place. I will come to class prepared, and will never run out of ideas and ways in which to help you, as I have 20 years of teaching and 40+ years of life experience on which to fall back on.

I have been taking both English and German lessons with Anton for a while now. He is very professional, always very well prepared and willing to go above and beyond to help his students. He has a wide range of knowledge across various topics, making our classes informative and entertaining. He is also a very good listener with great patience. He creates a safe and comfortable environment where I feel encouraged to speak and make mistakes without feeling discouraged. Language learning is something that I'm not good at. I have tried and failed several times, including after working in a foreign company for years, my speaking English is still very poor. This time I have been taking lessons with Anton for more than 30 times and found my confident. Learning requires day after day practice, your own effort is important, and so is the teacher's guidance. Anton doesn't seem to do much, thus you won’t feel pushed or stressful; But he actually does it all, always listen carefully and find out your problem and areas of weakness, then arrange relevant study. Moreover, besides language learning, I also harvesting a lot from many of his positive views and experiences.Thanks a lot：）

I was referred to Anton by my previous tutor, who was really excited about studying with him, and now I can see why!
