Hi, my name is Masami. I was born and raised in Japan. In my twenties I moved to Europe and lived in Austria, UK and the Netherlands for more than 20 years. After having lived in China for 3 years, I am back again in the Netherlands since August 2022.
My hobbies include Japanese Tea Ceremony (Kimono, Calligraphy, Flower arrangement, Zen teachings etc), Classical Music (playing Oboe, Sax and Piano), Travelling (visited many countries in my life), cooking, reading and writing etc.
I am also interested in the Environmental issues. I am vegan myself and trying to live as sustainably as possible.
Most of all, I love people and enjoy listening to people's stories. I'd love to listen to you too!Che tipo di insegnante sono
I have experience in teaching Japanese for more than 20 years, having started in Japan, then in Austria, UK, the Netherlands and in China. I have taught from small children to adults, in various institutes from language schools to High schools.
I can explain the logic of grammars in a simple way so that you can understand it well.
Moreover, I love communicating with people and love to see my students improve with their language skills as to talk more about themselves to me.
I myself also love learning languages. I speak English and Dutch fluently. German, Chinese, Spanish and French are on the way. Thus, I don't forget the beginner's mind. Language is the tool of communication!Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento
If you already following a textbook, I would try to teach you using the book you have. I have taught with various kinds of textbooks, and I can adapt easily.
If you don't have textbook yet, but would like one, I can recommend one to you after assessing your target, learning style and requirements.
If you would rather not use textbook, I can give you important grammar points at every lesson as to practice with you. I make my own materials and was involved in developing exercise books which were published.

Enjoying the high-quality lessons! Very good for learning Japanese but also for learning about the culture (and the cultural differences with Western countries).

I had my first lesson (after the trail lesson) as a complete beginner in Japanese. Masami explains everything clearly and makes the learning process enjoyable and motivating. Her positive attitude and encouragement really made me feel confident during the lesson. I'm looking forward to continuing my Japanese language journey.

Voor de Nederlanders onder ons die graag Japans willen leren maar geen adequate Japanse lessen in hun stad of dorp hebben, is Masami echt fantastisch. Ze kan heel goed Nederlands waardoor het een stuk makkelijker is om op te pikken. Daarnaast kan ze het ook heel goed uitleggen en kan ze tussendoor ook vragen beantwoorden over de Japanse cultuur. Ze heeft mij heel goed voorbereid voor mijn reis naar Japan. Echt een aanrader om lessen bij te volgen!
