I was born in Japan and have lived in Seoul, South Korea where I have studied and worked for many years. Because I myself have an experience of mastering the Korean language, I know both the pleasure and difficulties of learning a new language. Now I appeared on popular TV shows here. Besides teaching, my biggest passion is traveling. I love experiencing different cultures, meeting people from all over the world, so meeting new students, getting to know them and supporting them on their Korean learning journey is really exciting for me - an enthusiasm I always bring to my lessons! . I’m a professional language instructor. I've been working for Seoul National University for 7 years now. I have a master's and Ph.D. Degree in Linguistic Psychology and also work as a professional teacher and researcher in the field of second language acquisition and language proficiency evaluation. I’m currently teaching international students and researchers from other countries. I'm passionate and highly skilled to guide students. I hosted an educational program on a nationwide EBS radio program for 6 years. It means that my pronunciation is an ideal one that you can trust to imitate as a model. I offer three courses in Korean. The first is the most formal of my programmes. In this programme, you will learn essential Korean including grammar, reading, speaking, listening and writing. If you are a beginner, it's not a problem - I can deliver explanations in English! If you are preparing for TOPIK to pass, or you have a particular goal, I will tailor the lessons to achieve it.
The second is for those who have learned some Korean before! We can have more conversation oriented lessons so you can practice real conversation with a near-native speaker.
My third course is for advanced learners. I pick up an interesting article in Korean before every lesson. We discuss about the topic.Il mio materiale didattico

I've studied Korean for several years, but I've always struggled with speaking and listening, so I stopped trying. I decided to book a session with Yoshua because of his background as a Korean learner who mastered the language and understood the mechanics of language acquisition. I managed to have a real conversation (in very broken but still mostly understandable Korean!) for nearly a half an hour. Yoshua understood which words were likely to be out of my scope and would offer a translation before modeling them in an otherwise very natural sentence. I never felt like I was a student being walked through an evaluation or lesson, just a beginning Korean learner chatting with a very patient advanced Korean speaker!
