Jessica 申shēn

I highly recommend Jessica. I'm just learning Mandarin for fun and travel, so I found HSK classes unnecessarily intense and too much business vocabulary. Jessica's conversation classes are exactly what I was looking for -- organized but more relaxed and enjoyable. I'm finding I'm sticking to learning because I'm not stressed out by it.

Today was my hundredth class with Jessica. Every class is enjoyable, each time we have good conversation and Jessica teaches me new words/phrases and finds better ways for me to say some things I phrase badly. I look forward to our class each week.

Great teacher, we have fun conversations and she sends me the sentences after class so that I can practice them. Today we talked about food and the mushrooms that I will plant next month. Then we talked about farmers markets and flea markets. It is always enjoyable and I love learning vocabulary I can use when I go to China next or talk to my Chinese friends on the internet.

Jessica is a wonderful teacher. She always has an interesting lesson prepared. The lesson always provides many opportunities to chat about how our lives are different because I live on a ranch and she be lives in the city. So I get a whole lot of speaking time at the same time as I learn grammar and new vocabulary!

Jessica is very organized and came prepared with a slide deck for our introduction. I sent a few topics over ahead of time and she was already prepared with relevant materials, and explains everything very clearly.

We have great conversations, I receive a transcript of the conversation in characters with the pinyin above each by character. I print it out on three pages one with pinyin and characters, one in Chinese characters and one in English. I read it several times before my next lesson until I can read it from the characters Without hesitation! A great way to learn!
