Shoko

I've been studying with Shoko さん for the past three months in preparation for a trip to Japan, and I cannot thank her enough for all the instruction she's provided! I did not have any Japanese experience, yet in just a short period, I feel I've learned so much and received such valuable speaking practice and encouragement from her. I always look forward to lessons and cannot recommend Shoko さん enough. If you want a kind, fun, and hardworking professor, Shoko さん is for you!

As aulas com a Shōko-sensei são tão boas que eu nem vejo o tempo passar! Quando me dei por mim, já havia passado 5 minutos do fim da aula. Excelente professora, muito atenciosa, divertida e motivadora! Recomendo sempre, para todo mundo!

Shoko-sensei has been an incredible guide through the beginning my journey with Japanese. I've been studying with her since July of last year and am very grateful for her patience and positive attitude! Shoko-sensei's lessons have a very natural progression and we combined reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in every lesson. Few teachers make me feel as optimistic! I feel more confident to use what Japanese I have on my first trip to Japan this week. Thanks for everything, see you after my trip!

Shoko is everything I could have hoped for from a tutor. She listens patiently as I try to put what I've learned into practice, is kind and helpful in correcting mistakes, and truly goes the extra mile both during and after class to make sure my language skills are improving. I've learned so much since we started working together and I'm looking forward to continuing to study together in the new year!

My first lesson with Shoko was very fun. She used visual aids which tested my existing (limited) reading and speaking skills and it made the class very engaging. in addition to that we mixed in conversation so it felt very personal. would recommend!
