Hi, my name is Mariko. I am from Chiba which is near Tokyo where I studied for my science degree and worked.
I have a great passion for health, which led me to Australia where I also studied and worked. I understand how it feels to learn a second language as this was a requirement for me in order to live/study/work in Australia. I am here for you to support your journey of Japanese. I understand how it feels to learn a second language as this was a requirement for me in order to live/study/work in Australia. My goal for my students is to make the lesson fun and relevant. In my lessons, please do not be afraid of making mistakes. Instead, we will focus on “communication” and I will encourage you to express yourself in your word.

In my lessons, YOU will decide how fast you progress the course. I will alter my teaching style and give you a guide depending on your goals.
1. I have a structured course using my PowerPoint slides and textbooks (Genki), which are suitable for beginners and for those who have basic Japanese skills but want to refresh their knowledge. You will be given PDF files and some tools to remember new vocabulary when necessary. If you like, I will give you homework as well.
2. The second course is for a conversational practice where you and I practice what you have learned during the course. Throughout the lesson, you will receive guidance and tips in pronunciation and application for daily use.Il mio materiale didattico

Mariko san is absolutely the best teacher for my son Timothy. Mariko san always prepared. During her class she is able to do different activities - new kanji review, writing, grammar, reading and even there is time for fun games. Simply the best Japanese teaching experience and my son loves it too. Thank you Mariko-san.

After taking her lesson, twice, I can tell you that this teacher is very thorough with her explanations. Because of this, I can easily find my weak points while preparing for the JLPT. Definitely the best JLPT test prep instructor I have had so far.
