Hola, ¿qué tal? Soy Matías👋. I'm a writer, podcaster, musician, and language geek. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, I now live in a small town in the province of Córdoba. Whether you've already started exploring the Spanish jungle or you're considering paying it a visit, I'm here to help you understand and appreciate Spanish language in all its puzzling beauty. My intent is to create a warm, immersive learning environment to keep you in 'language learning mood'. I'm committed to helping you stay motivated and on track and I aim to build a long-term cooperative relationship with you, so that we can both enjoy the ride.
I've been teaching Spanish for over 10 years. Lots of success stories to tell you about, but you know what they all have in common? The ones who succeeded were those who took the wheel. Almost as a bonus, they had me on the passenger's seat guiding them, helping them avoid fragmented learning and going in circles. We'll make this happen together. I believe the real joy of learning a language shows when you take ownership of your learning journey. Having a an open tutor-student relationship greatly contributes to it. I don't want to be the-one-who-knows-everything-and-is-always-right, which is why I avoid the masterclass format. Instead, I focus on providing clear explanations and guidance while encouraging you to get involved and really understand (and use!) the language naturally.
I host a podcast for Spanish learners and run a website dedicated to insights into Argentinian Spanish and Argentinian culture. I'm always searching for useful resources to make the learning process both efficient and enjoyable.

Neuroscience applied to teaching - Asociación Educar para el Desarrollo Humano - 2018During 2017 and the first part of 2018 I completed a training course on Neuropsychoeducation, that is, Neuroscience applied to learning. It was an eye opening insight into how we react to new experiences and how we process information. Ever since then, I've applied the knowledge acquired to my language teaching.

Spanish Teaching Training Course - International House Buenos Aires - 2013I made this training course in one of Buenos Aires' best language schools. It was designed to give ELE teachers a comprehensive background into language teaching. We got practice straight away with foreign students and the experience was both valuable and useful in terms of the knowledge they shared and advice and suggestions given.

Laurea triennale - LawyerI graduated as a lawyer from University of Buenos Aires, one of the country's most prestigious public universities, in 2011. Upon graduation I worked as an attorney for some years but I'm currently not doing any law-related work, except those involving language teaching. I have regular classes and courses with foreign law students or people related to the 'legal world'.

2014 - 2022
English TeacherFormerly a student in my school days, until I moved in to Córdoba I was an English teacher here. I used to have regular courses of students aged 9-18 and I'd tutor the older ones to sit for FCE exams. I also teach adults, tailoring my classes to fit their needs. I have a great time switching to my "English self" for a few hour every day.
Since we've moved to Córdoba, my courses have stayed virtual.
2014 - 2022
Spanish TeacherI decided I wanted to teach Spanish after living for 6 months in Brazil. While living there I had the chance to teach Spanish to hotel staff and felt it was exactly what I wanted to do wherever I was. Once I was properly trained, we included Spanish as a Foreign Language as part of the course offers. We've had students coming to study, but most of all, over the Internet, and well before the pandemic hit!

Matias is so knowledgeable and interested in so many topics that we have really interesting conversations while he keeps a lookout for where I can improve my vocabulary and grammar. He creates a seamless learning environment that always produces improvement. Really excellent teacher.

Matías is an excellent teacher with a great personality. It is so easy to talk to him and I have never had a boring lesson or conversation with him. The way he suggests corrections is very useful and encouraging at the same time. Thanks to Matías, I am more confident in conversing in Spanish and looking forward to taking my DELE.
