Hi, I'm Sophie! I'm a French teacher from Lyon, in France. I am living in Istanbul, Turkey, where I have been teaching French to University students and adults for 13 years. I hold a master's degrees in teaching French as a Foreign language as well as a Master's degrees in International relations. I was previously working in that field. I love learning new languages and getting to know new countries and cultures. I've learned English, Spanish, German, Italian and Polish in a classic way during my studies and I learned Turkish while living in Turkey, by listening and speaking with people. My goal is to bring out the best in you to improve your French in the way you need!
My lessons are well structured but I really do adapt myself to your goals. I can for instance explain you French grammar and make you practice it by using structures in speaking (fun) activities. We can also work on vocabulary or pronunciation. I can assign you writing tasks.
For general conversation practice, I like to send you first a video or a text with questions and then have a conversation on the topic. All topics are possible, just let me know!
I have been a DELF-DALF and TCF-TEF examiner for many years so I can help you prepare these exams or others (FIDE, US department of State exam, etc.).Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento

With me, you'll practice your French as much as possible in order to gain self-confidence and fluency.
Every time you speak, I'm listening carefully, I write down your mistakes and correct them on my sheet (without showing my screen too much, I don't want to interrupt your thoughts ;-)) and I'll give you a feedback.

Sophie is an excellent teacher, I prepared with her to take my TEF Canada. I think the material for speaking and writing is really very close to what you will find in the real exam. I love Sophie's professionalism as she reviews the assignments and gives conscientious feedback so that you can really shine on the exam.

I have really enjoyed my lessons with Sophie and I would highly recommend her. Her support preparing for the DALF C1 has been invaluable. She has been available to meet, has provided diverse materials (e.g., articles, videos) and has provided clear feedback to help me improve. Sophie has also helped me to draft a resume in French so that I can apply to jobs in France. Not only did she provide feedback on grammar and vocabulary, Sophie helped me to understand the nuances of how my CV may be interpreted in France and we focused a lot on insuring my Canadian experience would be communicated well. Sophie est professeure très professionnel et je peut apprendre beaucoup de grammaires nuancés basés sur les texts j’ai pratiqué dans lesquelles il y a beaucoup d’erreurs. Elle ne quitte pas chaque erreur et elle m’explique avec l’élaboration. J’apprécie beaucoup pour m’aider à faire la solide fondation du français! Particulièrement le text TCF CA.
