I'm a native English speaker from Ireland🇮🇪 but have lived abroad since 2013 (my accent is very neutral). I have lived in England🇬🇧, The Netherlands🇳🇱, Japan🇯🇵, Portugal🇵🇹 and Colombia🇨🇴. I enjoy traveling, and love to experience cultures, meet people and learn languages.
I am a Dr of archaeology, and my 2 passions are history and languages. (Don't get me started on the history of languages! 😁)

I have several specialities: IELTS preparation, Academic English and writing, Irish English, British English, Business English, English for speakers of Dutch, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish and French.
I create fun, interactive lessons that will engage everyone, no matter your age, and put a smile on your face. If I can make you laugh it not only makes classes fun, it has also been proven to help you hold and recall new information. In my classes, the goal is for you to speak confidently. Actively speaking the language is the best way for you to get comfortable, improve vocabulary retention, and measure progress. 20 Hour Intensive TEFL Course - i-to-i - 2008The basic requirement for this certificate was attendance at an intensive teacher training course. As well as this, it was necessary to complete the required in-class tasks and assessments. Crucial to acquiring this certificate was the design and implementation of a lesson plan with a class of 5 or more students, aimed at teaching a particular grammar point. I received excellent marks and feedback on all activities but particularly my lesson planning.

After one year of weekly lessons with Liz our youngster made big progress and learned a lot. From ‘hello my name is’ to real conversations in English. The materials used fitted the age group very well. But most importantly, it was always fun (we heard a lot of laughter coming from upstairs during the lessons)! Fun is the best way to learn. Thanks for everything Liz! If in doubt we highly recommend your child taking lessons with Liz

I've been with Liz for over a year and she makes the classes great everyday! I've improved my pronunciation and found out a bunch of stuff about cultures around the world in general :)

This is my 2nd trial lesson.
First 15 minutes: she organized the lesson to break the ice.
And after she gave me some ideas for my requests( improving listening and speaking skill)
