I love learning languages. It's interesting to have a conversation with foreigners in their native language. Actually, one of my life goals is to speak more than six languages. In 2017, I met a Mexican in China. After he went back to Mexico he contacted me because he wanted to learn how to speak Chinese. At that time, he had been taking some Chinese lessons with a native Spanish speaker. However, I found that his teacher was making some mistakes and realized I could be his Chinese teacher. Since our common language is English, this also gave me an opportunity to practice my English language skills. I discovered that I could use pinyin to help my friend pronounce Chinese correctly. The Chinese language is very different from other languages - both in grammar and pronunciation. When we are first born, all we can do is cry and listen. As babies, most of our time is spent listening and trying to imitate how to make sounds like our parents. That's why the listening and speaking are so important. I'll focus on these parts first. :) Chinese characters seem difficult to learn because they are quite different from other languages. I'll teach you how to read them if you want to pass an exam or test. Since I'm a funny guy, I like to teach students in an interesting way. First class was informal yet prepared! Plus it was structured around actual vocabulary I would use.
Felt comfortable and challenged to practice my Chinese and expand my comprehension.

I didn’t feel ashamed or 尴尬 (a word I learned today!) about my beginner skills. Felt like I was learning from a friend who met me at a cafe to practice my Chinese seriously.

even though I'm a very beginner I could be able to have a small conversation with him, he helped me out really well and taught me many new vocabularies, this is a very interesting and new method to me, that he immediately tries to start speaking Chinese and makes me speak it as well he is very patient and considerate! It was my first class with Vincent, and I felt very comfortable. Despite my low level of Chinese, I was able to have a small conversation, which gave me a lot of confidence. Vincent is a calm teacher who explains things patiently, adapting to your learning pace. Overall, a very positive experience! I will book more lessons with him! :)

Again an awesome lesson with Vincent. I enjoy his proactive attitude while he paid attention to the questions I sent upfront. It didn't feel like studying, which is awesome!
