Ciao a tutti! My name is Valeria, I was born and raised in Rome, Italy.
I've been a language teacher for almost 10 years now, teaching Italian and English in both schools and as a private tutor.
In 2010 I moved to London for a year and there I began to teach Italian. It was a great experience and after coming back to Rome I continued to tutor online a couple of students I had met while in London. My motto about learning: tell me and I’ll forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I'll learn.
I am a really enthusiastic teacher with a passion for foreign languages and cultures, to me a new language is a fascinating new world to explore.
I like chatting with people from all over the world and being engaged in continuous learning, therefore I frequently attend lectures, seminars and webinars to update my language teaching techniques and discover new ones.
I got my Master's Degree in modern languages (English and French) from the University of Rome La Sapienza, after that I got my DITALS Certificate from the University of Siena, to teach Italian as a foreign/second language.Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento
My students always play an active role, as that makes confidence and motivation grow from the start.
The trial lesson will assess your level, goals and needs. Then, for each lesson, I’ ll provide you with authentic material taken from real-life situations. We’ll go through it, reflect on the theory and then you’ll do a lot of practice to strengthen your grammar and vocabulary.

To obtain my DITALS 1 (teaching to adults) I took a four-week course (88 hours) plus 40 hours classroom training. I finally passed a written examination. After that my certificate was released by the University for foreigners of Siena.

I have been taking Italian lessons with Valeria for more than 3 years now. Each time we meet, I not only learn a lot, but really enjoy our time together. Valeria is a true professional and I'm always impressed with how many effective techniques she comes up to help me improve in all areas of communicating in Italian. She always gives me with creative and challenging homework to complete in between lessons. She is very easygoing, flexible and an extremely nice person. I look forward to meeting her in person!

What can I say... three months of intensive studies and Io parlo Italiano!
Actually, I started talking at the first lesson and it's impossible not to start doing that! That's a miracle! Sometimes it's easier to say something in Italian than in Russian.
Valeria is highly recommended, very professional and cool teacher besides being just a nice person to talk to.

Ho seguito più di cento lezioni di Valeria. Lei è davvero un'insegnante bravissima; molto pazienza, creativa, puntuale, e divertente. Le lezione sono una varietà di vocabulario, grammatica, guardare video, ascoltare audio, o scrivere. Con il suo aiuto, ho avanzato dal livello A1, fino al B1, e sono certo che continuerò con le sue lezioni finché non parlo italiano fluente. Grazie di tutti!
