Shinnie is a very good teacher. He will make sure to do anything to make sure you improve and don’t regress. His strategies are very good and very simple which makes learning Korean very easy. He will always give you honest feedback unlike all other teachers that won’t give honest feedback and instead they lie to you and praise you even when you suck at Korean this is because they want your money however Shinnie doesn’t lie and praise you when you do bad he only praises you if you really are good. Over 4 Months of Learning with him I rarely got praised by him but when he praised me I knew I did well. Over 4 Months of learning with Shinnie my Korean improved a lot, now I could start talking basic conversation with Koreans easily previously before I took Shinnie’s class I couldn’t even talk a simple conversation even though I learned for 3 Months using YouTube. Using YouTube It took me 1 Month to learn Hangul which will only take you about 3 days or even one day if you have Shinnie.

I have been having lessons with Shinne for a year now. Shinnie is patient, respectful and passionate about his students learning. When I thought I wasn’t progressing he showed me how much I have learned and helped restore my confidence. Shinnie has taught me how to study successfully again using his proven methods and my self-confidence has grown. I know Shinnnie teaches people with ADHD, stuttering, mental illnesses, and disabilities as I have some of these conditions. However, he has never discriminated against me and has been truly dedicated to my Korean learning. I have tried learning with other Korean teachers who have given me false compliments which I did not find productive. Shinnie has helpfully pointed out attitudes or habits that have hindered my progress and he is always honest about my skills and goals. You can trust him and just follow his guidance—without overthinking or false delusions. Shinnie is an excellent, top rate teacher. If I can do it, you can too.

My lessons with Shinnie have been a game changer! I’ve been trying to learn Korean on and off for over ten years and have made little progress… until now. After my first lesson with Shinnie I could tell that this was going to be a totally different learning experience. In the past, I would get exhausted and discouraged after just a half-hour lesson and then wouldn’t sign up for another italki lesson for months, averaging just 2-3 lessons a year. After starting with Shinnie, my motivation is staying strong and a full hour goes by really fast, and now I’m doing 2-3 lessons per week. It’s hard to fully explain Shinnie’s unique methods, except that they work. I recommend that anyone reading this just sign up and see for yourself. I’m feeling excited that this is the year I’m going to finally reach my Korean speaking goals.

If your Korean skills are stuck in semi-intermediate purgatory and if you are really insecure about your speaking abilities, you’ve come to the right place! Even though I fumbled through many disjointed sentences, trying to convey my point, I never got frustrated because Shinnie provided a lot of great vocabulary and grammar points and was very encouraging! Would warmly recommend anyone to give his lessons a try!
