With years of teaching experience and a deep understanding of language learning, I create a relaxed and engaging environment where students feel confident making progress.
I’ve worked with learners of all ages and fluency levels, from beginners to advanced speakers—including both native German speakers and those learning it as a second language. This experience allows me to adapt my teaching style to each student’s needs, whether you prefer structured lessons, conversation practice, or a mix of both.

Language being a tool for communication, I lay focus on extending your vocabulary and speaking fluency. Instructions will be mostly in German, unless requested otherwise. I can help you learn and improve your German by offering a wide range of topics and giving you the right tools and methods to work towards fluency and beyond. I'll show you how to pick up new vocabulary efficiently, how to implement flashcards into your learning habits and will provide you with learning material appropriate to your level. My classes will be challenging yet entertaining and will cater to your needs and goals. Ivo truly understands how to make language learning both effective and engaging. His teaching style stands out through his ability to create an interactive and supportive learning environment where I feel encouraged to speak and practice the language actively.
What makes his lessons particularly valuable is his thoughtful approach to teaching new vocabulary. Rather than simply providing word lists, he creates meaningful contexts and offers multiple examples that help cement new words in memory.
Ivo's lessons are consistently fresh and varied, focusing on interesting topics that keep me engaged while building practical language skills. And on top of that he has a great sense of humor. I can only highly recommend Ivo :)

The class is very well prepared, and Ivo adapts to my level and need very quickly. He uses a lot of different ways to explain grammar and vocabulary, which is not only fun but also easy to remember. I am looking forward to our next class.

Ich habe diese Unterrichtstunde sehr genossen. Ivo hat immer interessante Themen zum Besprechen und ich lerne neue Wörter, Redewendungen und Kulturelle Nuancen. Ich finde das super!

When I turned up to a traditional in-person group German class yesterday it was at this point I realised just how much progress I had made with Ivo. Students that had attended this class in the A1.1, A1.2, A1.3 and A2.1 classes over a year had not progressed as much as I had with Ivo in 8 weeks. Thanks Ivo!

Ich habe diese Unterrichtstunde sehr interessant und toll gefunden! Ich mag, dass obwohl Ivo einen guten Plan für den Unterricht hat, können wir auch über meine spontanen Fragen reden und ich finde dass sehr hilfreich.
Wir haben die nächste Lektion nicht genau geplant weil ich vorziehe, frei und unvorbereitet sprechen zu können.
