Hi! I'm your new Italian teacher and I can't wait to begin this journey with you!
I'm Serena, I'm 30 years old and I'm Sicilian, but I live and work in Turin. I'm a qualified and experienced Italian teacher to foreign students, both online and in presence, and an English teacher to middle school students. I have more than five years of experience in teaching Italian around the world and in Italy, and I'm currently teaching online.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Modern Languages and Cultures and a Master's degree in Intercultural Studies and International Relations. I can speak English, Spanish, Arabic and a little bit of French! I love travelling, learning new languages and reading!Che tipo di insegnante sono
I believe that learning a new language is a long journey that leads us to a new version of ourselves. For this reason, it's important to choose who'll be your guide and mentor. I see myself as an empathic guide and a good listener, always committed to helping my students reaching their language goals and overcoming their difficulties. I care about my students feelings and moods as I understand how difficult learning a new language can be. For this reason, my goal is to make the learning process stimulating and funny. My method is mostly based on communication. I strongly believe that speaking a language is the best way to learn it. My students know that they can make mistakes in class without fear or embarrassment, as I always say that it's simply part of the process. Making mistakes leads to success!
Concerning my classes, I use many different materials and books that help the student focus on the main four language abilities: speaking, reading, writing and listening. In addition to that, I like using authentic materials, such as songs, YouTube videos, newspaper articles, etc. My classes are tailored according to my student's needs, goals, preferences and learning style.Il mio materiale didattico

Serena was wonderful, her lesson was very helpful and is exactly what I was looking for as a mix of conversation and learning more about grammar and vocabulary! She is very easy to talk to. I truly feel like I am learning during the class and that it is a great use of my time. I will definitely be taking more classes with her

I had my first lesson today and it was just great! I am a beginner and Serena is extremely patient and understanding. The lessons were entertaining and a lot of fun. I am looking forward to the next lessons.

Serena é uma ótima professora, discutimos vídeos da atualidade, política, costumes italianos e de outros países, estórias engraçadas, piadas, curiosidades, etc. Além de tudo isso, ela é muito divertida, tornando o aprendizado uma experiência prazerosa.
